Spring Loaded Seals

Constant-force garter-spring seal

A garter-spring-energised lip seal that maintains constant radial force as the lip wears, for reliable long-life shaft sealing.

  • Garter spring keeps radial force constant as the lip wears
  • Consistent sealing across a long service life
  • Accommodates minor shaft runout and eccentricity
  • NBR or FKM lip for fluid and temperature match
  • Steel or stainless case to suit the environment
Temperature
-40°C to +200°C (FKM lip)
Pressure
Up to 0.5 bar (standard lip)
pH range

Where it holds the line

Lip force decays as a seal wears — unless a spring keeps it constant. The spring-loaded seal places a precision stainless garter spring behind the lip so that radial contact force, and therefore sealing performance, stays consistent across the seal's whole service life. That makes it the dependable choice for shafts that must run reliably for long intervals between maintenance, holding oil tight as the lip beds in and slowly wears. NBR and FKM lips cover the usual temperature and fluid range.

Typical applications

  • 01Long-interval gearbox and motor shafts
  • 02Pumps and fans
  • 03Conveyor and drive rollers
  • 04Wind-turbine and gear drives
  • 05General rotating equipment
