Single-acting rod & piston sealHydraulic Seals
Rod and piston seals — U-cups, V-packing sets, wipers, step seals and back-up rings — engineered for the pressure and stroke of hydraulic cylinders.

Performance envelope
Hydraulic cylinders live or die by their seal package, and SealGuard supplies every element of it. Single-acting U-cups and PTFE step seals deliver low-friction, stick-slip-free rod and piston sealing; chevron V-packing sets stack up for the highest pressures; wipers scrape contamination off the rod before it reaches the seal; and anti-extrusion back-up rings hold everything in place at the top of the pressure range. Specified together, they keep cylinders tight, smooth and reliable through millions of cycles.

Getting the spec right
Field-tested guidance from our engineers on specifying hydraulic seals for demanding service.
- Note 01
Pair every rod seal with a wiper to keep ingress off the seal and out of the hydraulic fluid.
- Note 02
Add anti-extrusion back-up rings once system pressure and the extrusion gap exceed the seal's bare rating.
- Note 03
Choose PTFE step seals for high-cycle, low-friction service where stick-slip would mar position control.
- Note 04
Stack V-packing sets for very high pressures and adjust gland depth to set the working compression.
