Flexible-graphite packing is the standard for high-temperature valve and pump service where PTFE softens and fibre chars. Braided from high-purity graphite yarn — often with carbon-fibre corners for extrusion resistance — it conducts heat away from the shaft, holds its seal through thermal cycling and meets the fire-safe and low-emission standards that critical valve duty demands.
