Where it holds the line

When the medium carries solids, aramid packing earns its place. Its exceptional tensile strength and abrasion resistance let it withstand slurry, sand and high-pressure service that would tear softer braids apart, while a PTFE or graphite lubricant impregnation keeps shaft friction and wear under control. Often used as tough anti-extrusion end rings around a softer core, aramid packing dramatically extends gland life on the hardest-wearing pumps in mining, dredging and effluent service.
