Metallic Gaskets

Ring-type joints for extreme flanges

Ring-type-joint (RTJ) metallic gaskets in soft iron and stainless that seal the highest-pressure, highest-temperature flange duties.

  • Seals the highest flange classes and pressures
  • Controlled plastic deformation for a metal-to-metal seal
  • Oval (R) and octagonal (R / RX / BX) profiles
  • Soft iron to stainless and exotic-alloy materials
  • ASME B16.20 and API 6A wellhead-rated

Where it holds the line

When flange class, pressure or temperature outruns every soft and semi-metallic gasket, the ring-type joint takes over. A precisely machined solid-metal ring — oval or octagonal — seats into matching grooves and seals by controlled plastic deformation under bolt load, holding the most extreme pressures and temperatures in the plant. Made from soft iron, low-carbon and stainless steels and exotic alloys to ASME B16.20 and API 6A, RTJ gaskets are the standard for wellheads, high-pressure pipework and refinery service at Class 2500 and above.

Typical applications

  • 01Wellhead and Christmas-tree flanges
  • 02High-pressure pipeline and manifold joints
  • 03Refinery high-temperature service
  • 04High-pressure heat exchangers and vessels
  • 05API 6A pressure-control equipment
