Sealing material selection matrix

A first-pass guide to matching seal materials to temperature, pressure and media. Use it to shortlist candidates, then confirm against the product datasheet and your service conditions.

How to read this matrix

The ranges below are practical service envelopes for common SealGuard materials, not absolute limits. Real capability depends on form (gasket, packing, O-ring), construction, surface finish and load. Where two materials overlap, prefer the one with the most margin on your worst-case condition — temperature spikes and pressure transients decide service life more often than the steady-state duty.

When in doubt, send conditions

If your media is a mixture, the temperature cycles, or the pressure is near a material's limit, send us the full service conditions. We will return a specific recommendation with predicted performance rather than a catalogue range.
